A wedding emergency kit is a must have on your wedding day. It’s always helpful to have a kit ready to go for your big day. Things happen! They won’t be major but it’s nice to have a solution to any little mishaps that may pop up on your big day.
You may end up doing all the prep work for no reason but we believe it is definitely better to be safe than sorry. Trust us, no one wants an emergency on their big day but knowing that you have this kit ready to go will definitely give you peace of mind.
Socialite Events provides our full emergency kit as part of our wedding day service. Each planner’s kit is unique to themself and their experiences. Generally, there are always some common items you will find amongst most emergency stashes.
If you don’t plan on hiring a wedding planner and decide to go to the wedding alone, you may be wondering what exactly do I need for my emergency kit? How do I prepare for the unknowns?
Below is what is included in the Socialite Events kit and what we feel are must have items you need to include in your wedding bag.
Here’s what we recommend:
Sewing Kit
Deodorant
Hair Spray
Tide stick
Dry Shampoo
Medication (antacids, ibuprofen, anti diarrhea pills (it’s not fun to think about- but it happens)
Makeup
Band-Aids
Mini First Aid Kit
Tissues
Mints
Blister Balm
Fashion Tape
Eyelash glue
Lip gloss
Nail File
Safety Pins
Blotting Papers
Perfume
Scissors
Super glue
Neutral nail color
Duct tape
Femine products
Black pen (you’ll need this to sign your marriage certificate)
Start packing your kit a few weeks before your big day. It’s always better to give yourself more time to pack and prep rather than rushing at the last minute and increasing any jitters. As you get closer to your wedding day you will feel good knowing that you prepped everything early on and can spend more time focusing on things.

We also recommend that you determine ahead of time who will be in charge of bringing the emergency kit with them on the day of. A maid of honor or close relative is normally a good bet when it comes to this. Hand it over to them the day before during the rehearsal that way it’s fresh in their mind and they will remember their responsibility. When your wedding day comes, you won’t have the time to think about your emergency kit or want to be stressing on any other detail.
Hopefully you don’t need to use it, but this little kit has come in handy a number of times and rescued brides from small mishaps.
It may seem as if it’s a never ending list of things but we recommend covering all bases but as mentioned we definitely believe it’s better to be over prepared then underprepared.
We also recommend you seriously consider hiring a wedding planner! Book a consultation with Socialite Events here
