When and where was your first date?
Cocoa Beach in 2015 (Day we met!)
When did you each know the other was the “one”?
We both think of this the same way actually. We remember in 2016 on a trip to Snow Shoe Mountain in West Virginia. We both got extremely ill over NYE and ended up taking care of one another.
Favorite thing about each other?
Erica: I love his ease at life. He always calms any situation and reminds me daily what is important in life.
John Henry: I love her drive for life and selfless nature. She is always motivating me and others around her to do their best.
Tell us about the proposal
John Henry proposed to me in Chamonix, France. It was right after we did a Paragliding over the French Alps after we had returned to our snow hidden cabin. He could not have been more nervous and I remember nothing that he said.. but I knew the answer was YES.
What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?
Dancing together.
Why did you select your venue?
We had very specific things we wanted for our wedding venue. We wanted the ease of transition for each part of the day, as well as, a beautiful backdrop for photos and the events of the day. Before doing a site visit to the venue I had built out a spreadsheet of about 40 local options and did a weighted scale to choose which (3) to visit. Sydonie was the first on that list and by the 3rd venue we had no doubt that this was where we wanted to tie the knot!
Why did you want to hire Socialite Events?
Stephanie seemed to be a great fit for us from the beginning. She was easy for us to work with and very receptive to all of the changes and chaos we threw at her. Her and her team were great!
What advice would you give to couples planning a wedding?
I am a huge details person and think I may have thought of TOO many. I know that seems crazy to say but there were a few things I put a lot of emphasis on that really were not that big of a deal. So don’t sweat the small stuff… just enjoy it.
