In order to bring you the very best knowledge for building your wedding planning dream team we had a question and answer session with Central Florida Wedding Photographer Cona Studios . As experts in their field they shared the top, most helpful wedding photographer questions to ask. Then followed with their personal response to the question.
Remember every photography company will have a different answer, so be sure to ask the questions and compare answers to find the perfect fit for your special day.
As we discused questions to ask before hiring your wedding photographer, Cona Studios graciously shared 2 invaluable tips that we believe will assist you with not only hiring your photographer, but your other wedding vendors as well.
Tip #1: Choose vendors that say YES to you, your vision, and your wedding day wishes. Remember, it’s Your Day. Meaning you should select a team that resonates with you and will be there to support you, so all you have to do is ENJOY.
Tip #2: Consider a First Look. This allows more time for photos without taking you away from your guests after the ceremony.
Furthermore your wedding photographer and videographer will be with you in some of your most intimate moments. For instance, reading a note from your fiance’ before the ceremony, first look with your father and the precious quiet moments after you say ‘I Do’. For this reason, choose someone you believe you can create a connection with and whom you will be comfortable with being in the room as you prepare to marry your best friend.
As aforementioned, you need to hire a photographer that sees your vision and matches your style. For instance, do you prefer perfectly posed, or natural? Inside or outside? Silly or serious? Cona Studios suggests the following questions to ask before hiring your wedding photographer. Plus they follow up with additional information to help you choose the best photographer for your wedding. Here are the top 7 wedding photographer questions to ask…
Question #1: Could I see a couple of galleries of your work?
Cona Studios Answer: We always recommend couples view full galleries (not just photos from Instagram) in order to choose a well-rounded photographer that aligns with your vibe. This is especially important when hosting a wedding indoors, such as a church or ballroom, to ensure your photo + video team is proficient in using on and off camera flash to light any situation.
Question #2: How many images are included in your packages? Can we purchase extra photos?
Cona Studios Answer: Our collections include all images that are up to our professional standards. We do not limit how many photos are delivered. However we do eliminate photos that are out of focus, duplicates, or simply didn’t turn out for various reasons. For instance, closed eyes, talking, turned heads, distractions, etc. As for purchasing “extra” photos, any remaining images not included in the gallery would be undesirable and unavailable for sale.
Question #3: Are all of the images in our gallery edited? Is there a fee to add more edited images?
Cona Studios Answer: Yes! All images in your gallery are hand-edited through our intensive process of sorting, color-correcting, cropping, straightening, and photoshopping.
Question #4: What do you do if your gear stops working on the day of our wedding?
Cona Studios Answer: We arrive with back-ups to our back-ups. This includes at least three camera bodies plus multiple lenses for all distances and circumstances. Plus extra batteries, lights, lightstands, drone, gimbals, and all the other fun stuff! Being in this business for over twelve years, you learn from experience that anything can happen and malfunction at any time so you have to be proactive and prepared.
Question #5: Is a second photographer included in your packages?
Cona Studios Answer: We include one photographer in all of our base packages with the option to add a second photographer for a minimum of four hours. Please see our Wedding Photo & Video Collections linked here. We highly recommend a second photographer in these situations:
Question #6: How do things change if I need more hours of coverage on the day of our wedding?
Cona Studios Answer: You simply let us know as soon as possible that you would like the team to extend their stay and we will do our best to make it work. We, of course, will arrange with you and your planner what is most important that we capture and maximize your hours of coverage.
Final question to ask your wedding photographer before hiring them:
Question #7: What is your creative process like?
Cona Studios Answer: We truly believe that every wedding is unique and deserves to be treated as such. Firstly, we get to know our clients from the earliest stages in their planning. Throughout this process, they share more insights into their style, wedding theme, important aspects of their day, and must have photos. From there we get inspired by our clients’ preferences and personalities and deliver an experience that highlights their love story on the “happiest day of their lives”. Our goal is to capture timeless, true to the moment images that bring back happy memories.
