Estate on the Halifax was the perfect wedding venue for Rachel and Jason. Their story began at work and blossomed into a romance that led to a surpise engagement during a trip to Charleston, South Carolina. Once the wedding planning started, they knew they wanted their day to be fun, relaxed, and filled with family and traditions.
Getting ready for your wedding is an exciting time. Donning the wedding gown and suit you carefully chose for this special day adds an extra layer of meaning, especially since this attire is often only worn once. Many couples incorporate family jewelry or personal items representing their heritage. Inviting your closest friends and family to share in these moments helps calm nerves and adds to the celebration.
Rachel and Jason embraced these traditions, including a heartwarming father-daughter first look that always brings out the tissues.
Estate on the Halifax, a premierCentral Florida wedding venue, is knownfor its sprawling landscapes, towering trees and seven different venue options. Rachel and Jason chose The Chapel their ceremony. This historic building was built in 1897, and after a full restoration, hosted its first wedding in 1999.
Family and tradition played a huge part in this wedding day, including the meaningful act breaking glass at the ceremony.
After exchanging vows, Rachel and Jason rang the 1893 bronze bell hanging in The Chapel’s bell tower, signifying their union as husband and wife.
One of Rachel’s favorite parts of the day was sneaking away for alone moments with her new husband. Jennifer Juniper Photography beautifully captured these special photos around the expansive grounds of Estate on the Halifax. They began at The Gazebo, then wandered through the lush gardens, and ended at the waterside gazebo on the Halifax River. Without a doubt these cherished minutes allowed the newlyweds to absorb the love and memories of their ceremony.
Following their photo session, Rachel and Jason joined their guests for a fun and lively reception in The Tavern.
We are in love with the way Rachel and Jason displayed family wedding photos at the reception. Framed images of parents and grandparents welcome the wedding guests into The Tavern, representing the history of love and strong family bonds.
After an exciting grand entrance by the wedding party members, the newlyweds shared their first dance. The soft pink linens on the reception tables complemented the ombre layers of pink icing on the three-tiered wedding cake. Next came a delicous meal served by Aunt Catfish Catering. Lastly, the couple danced the night away with their family and friends to the sounds of Audio Exchange Party & Event Band.
When we asked Rachel what she liked about her experience with Socialite Event Planning, she said, “IT ALL! Having a trusted company by our side everey step of the way, made the day relaxed and made us feel at ease and able to enjoy and be present in our special day.” Her advice to couples planning a wedding: “Get a wedding planner! They will cover it and you won’t need advice.”
We are grateful to Rachel and Jason for entrusting us with their vision and allowing us to bring their fun and relaxed wedding at Estate on the Halifax to life.
