When Devon started planning her wedding, she reached out to our owner, Stephanie, with a bold idea: “I have a crazy idea to host the wedding at the park next to our house and then have the reception in our backyard.” Stephanie, who knew Devon from their days as co-workers, immediatley replied, “I’m in!” And so began the journey of creating an unforgettable, epic backyard wedding for this special couple.
Devon and Brandon’s outdoor wedding ceremony took place at the local park next to their home. To transform the space, black folding chairs were arranged in rows under the canopy of large, shady trees. Next the aisle was lined with delicate white petals, creating a romantic pathway leading up to the altar. Then vibrant pink and red florals framed the entrance and adorned the altar, perfectly complementing the lush greenery at the park.
Devon looked stunning in her bridal gown, and an oversized wedding bouquet created by Laynie Botanicals added a touch of drama to her look. One of our favorite moments is the look on the Father-of-the-Bride’s face when he saw his beautiful daughter on her wedding day – pure joy! How adorable is this photo of him?
Given Devon and Brandon’s love for hosting friends and family at their home, it made perfect sense to turn their backyard into the ultimate wedding reception venue. Socialite Event Planning took Devon’s vision and ran with it, designing a space that encouraged mingling, dancing, and celebrating all night long. The focus was on creating a party vibe, with great food, a fun atmosphere, and unforgettable memories.
To bring this vision to life, Devon curated a menu that made the most of a backyard setting. This included multiple vendors serving small bites like a raw bar, individual charcuterie cups, freshly baked pizzas and lobster rolls.
The bold pinks and reds from the ceremony continued into the backyard reception design, with vibrant linens and black chairs to set a stylish, modern tone, cohesive with the ceremony. Flowers played an important role in the overall look, with gorgeous hanging florals draped over the deck and red petals floating in the pool. The pièce de résistance – a black and white checkered dance floor where Devon, Brandon, and their guests danced the night away.
